Alia Bhatt loves comedy movies and says she was obsessed with Govinda and Karisma Kapoor

Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in darlings, alongside Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma. The film will be a murder mystery and will be released on August 5. With darlings, Alia Bhatt is making her producer debut, and ever since the drama teaser dropped on July 25, everyone’s been talking about it. Bhatt also makes his comedy genre debut with this.

In addition to darlingsthe actor will co-star with Ranveer Singh in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Ranbir Kapoor in brahmastra. In an interview, Singh mentioned Bhatt, expressing his interest in working with her on a comedy film.

In one conversation, Bhatt responded with saying“Ranveer and I don’t do comedy, you know. But in real life, I’m very funny. Acting, on the other hand, is all about the writing and the character. The problem is, people don’t don’t approach comedy because they think I’m kind of a serious actor. I was thrilled that comedy and emotion could be combined in such a powerful way. I believe that if I can make you laugh, I can also make you cry.

She went on to say that she loves seeing comedies like Coolie No. 1 and Biwi No. 1 as a child. She says: “In my childhood, Govinda and Karisma Kapoor were my obsessions. It’s my jam. I grew up in the Govinda era. When it comes to acting, he could play any role – comedy, drama, romance, dance – and you couldn’t look away. It would arouse your interest.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Gangubai Kathiawadi, and the film was released in OTT after its huge theatrical success. After spending six consecutive weeks in the Top 10, Gangubai Kathiawadi became the most-watched Indian film on Netflix in June after racking up 50.6 million viewing hours since its April 26 debut. August 5, darlings will also be available on Netflix, and there are high expectations for the film.
