John Abraham: Working in action movies is like making a song for me

Actor John Abraham returns in a new action avatar in the gangster drama Mumbai Saga. He says performing an action scene, for him, is like doing an object song, and adds that he enjoys working in mass movies because mass audiences have shaped his career. “For some actors, they love to dance. For me, the action is my dance. It’s like a song to me,” John said.

The Mumbai Saga trailer has been released, and going through the three-minute clip, John will be engaging in some intense action in the Sanjay Gupta film, starring Emraan Hashmi, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff and Kajal Aggarwal. The film also features Prateik Babbar, Rohit Roy, Anjana Sukhani and Gulshan Grover. John portrays a gangster who aspires to rule Bombay while Emraan is portrayed as a cop who wants to kill John and win a cash prize of Rs 10 crore. The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 19.

How does he manage to deliver a different kind of action in each film? “It’s hard because I feel like my bones are breaking, but I try to do different actions in different movies. This movie has raw action. In this movie, my character conflicts with the Emraan’s character. It’s a gangster movie and we show what happened in reality. “

The action in Mumbai Saga is quite far from its stunts in his other upcoming film, Attack, he noted.

“In Attack, we do very different futuristic action. It’s difficult but I love this space,” John explained.

Speaking to the media at the launch of the Mumbai Saga trailer, John spoke about his orientation towards mass filmmaking. “I think you have to make movies that are about the general public and not just a few people sitting in a fancy theater. I saw what Manya Surve (her character in Shootout At Wadala) did for me and Sanjay (Gupta) So these kinds of films are accessible to a large part of the public, ”he said.

“When you go to the interiors of India, they really remember these characters. I think every actor has a fantastic, memorable character, so I think when you make movies you should do it for people. We are afraid of criticism on the internet and the biggest word of my life, at least, is that I am afraid of the word “trend”. I want to stay away from this trendy business, “he said. -he adds.
